I took a professional development class by the creators and writers of this magnificent book, 9 years ago in the summer of As a new teacher then and a career switcher, learning the research base instructional and strategies in this book (Teaching the Book), helped me solidify and secure my passion for teaching nine years since 5/5(2).

I have been teaching ESL (and EFL) for 11 years and so didn't expect to find much new in this book, but I have found it invaluable because it is so comprehensive and full of practical ideas and resources as well as the research and theories that reinforce and affirm much of what I.
